Because all the data is in named columns, a few clicks on menus is all it takes to calculate average values of a variable for each of hundreds or thousands of sub-categories. No need to scroll down the screen to find the end of your data, or to re-organise your data to fit the input requirements for your analysis. A relevant graph is always at hand with another click.
