1) Student MATLAB

Student Version (SV) MATLAB R2010a is an integrated technical computing environment that combines numeric computation, advanced graphics and visualisation, and a high-level programming language.            

MATLAB & Simulink Student Version, Release 2010a (now on a DVD) contains a fully functional “student use” perpetual license of MATLAB 7.10 with Simulink 7.5 and the following 7 toolboxes:
•    Control System Toolbox 8.5
•    Signal Processing Toolbox 6.13
•    Signal Processing Blockset 7.0
•    Statistics Toolbox 7.3 
•    Optimization Toolbox 5.0 
•    Image Processing Toolbox 7.0 
•    Symbolic Math Toolbox 5.4  (has access to MuPAD symbolic engine & language)
Additional Toolboxes can be added by the student. Updated online documentation for the core Student Version products is available on the DVD.

The matrix size is unlimited and Simulink is limited to 1000 blocks! Must have a DVD drive for installation and a minimum of 2048MB RAM is recommended with 1 GB of disk space for MATLAB only, 3-4 GB for a typical installation. Also E-mail (required) and Internet access (recommended) are required for product activation.

You can get the MATLAB student version from your local Campus Student bookshops. The price will be about NZ$200 including GST and courier from HRS.

If your student bookshop does not have the student version get them to contact Bruce (bruce@hrs.co.nz) to arrange distribution. Or contact HRS.

2) Student Maple
Maple is a powerful interactive computer algebra system that provides a complete mathematical environment for the manipulation of symbolic algebraic expressions, arbitrary-precision numerics, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics, and programming.

Student Maple is the full commercial version but comes with
no technical support. Your Student Maple does not expire.

Student Maple is available for Windows, Mac and 32-bit Linux.

We offer Student Maples through the Maplesoft web store. Open this page in your browser, and select Student for your category. Follow the instructions on the web page to purchase your Student Maple.

3) Student Mathcad
Student Mathcad is the full commercial version but comes with no technical support, extension packs or libraries.  Your Student Mathcad does not expire but can only be activated once on one computer and cannot be transferred.

Student Mathcad 15 is available for Windows XP/Vista/7.

4) Student STATISTICA (available in New Zealand only)

The full commercial version of STATISTICA 9 Base, Advanced Linear/Nonlinear Models and Multivariate Exploratory Techniques. Student STATISTICA comes with no technical support. Manuals are integrated into the online help. You have a licence for up to 2 years. The licence is renewable in the second year at no extra charge if you are still enrolled at an academic institution. You can credit the price paid for your Student STATISTICA against the purchase of a commercial system within 12 months of your graduation.

5) Student SurveyPro

Student SurveyPro is the full commercial version but comes with no technical support. Your Student SurveyPro does not expire.

Student SurveyPro is an essential tool for students doing any primary research. You can use any medium – paper, web, kiosk – and you'll save time and effort at all stages of the survey project - when creating the form, entering the data, and analysing the results.

SurveyPro is easy-to-use, flexible, with changes to the survey rippling automatically through the database and reports. It has good reporting and basic statistical analysis.
